Repository28
Repository28 began as a private reference list maintained by its curator — a single file of verified, useful websites organised by subject. Over time the index grew beyond what a private document could comfortably hold, and the decision was taken to publish it in the form of a browsable web directory. The index now catalogues 825 entries across 22 thematic sections, from Automotive & Transport Services to Travel, Tourism & Accommodation. Every site in the index was reviewed individually before listing, checked for operational status, and assigned to the most appropriate section. The curator's philosophy is conservative: it is better to index fewer sites with confidence than to list many sites carelessly. Entries are removed when they become non-operational, and new submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. The index is not monetised through rankings, featured placements, or paid positions — the order of entries within a section is alphabetical by domain. Repository28 is a reference tool, not a search engine. It is most useful when you know broadly what kind of site you are looking for and want a curated shortlist rather than an algorithmic result. The twenty-two sections of the index are the curator's best attempt to impose useful order on a diverse collection of web presences. Submissions are welcome. The curator asks only that proposed entries represent genuine, operational, clearly described online presences. Sites that meet the indexing criteria are listed without charge.
